Grant Holt Insists He Does Not Expect To Automatically

Grant Holt insists he does not expect to automatically start next weekend's clash at Manchester City despite netting the matchwinner for Norwich against QPR.

The striker came off the bench to score for the third time this season at Loftus Road on Saturday, sealing a 2-1 Premier League win over Rangers.

But while the 30-year-old is keen to return to Paul Lambert's first-choice line-up, he understands the manager's decision to rotate his squad.

Holt told The Sun: "Of course I want to start, but in this division it is a squad game.

"No-one ever plays 11 men for the whole season - it's too physically challenging. That's why the manager brought in a lot of bodies in the summer.

"We have people like Zak Whitbread, Daniel Ayala, Simon Lappin and Adam Drury in the stands - that's what you need."
